THE LIES THAT CONSTITUTE THE LIE OF BLACK INFERIORITY
“When you control a man’s thinking you do not have to worry about his actions.”
–Carter. G. Woodson, Father of Black History month
Greetings, Brothers and Sisters of the Diaspora! Happy Black History Month! As we celebrate Black History, let us also celebrate our collective Blackness.
Carter G. Woodson: The Miseducation of the Negro
In The Mis-education of the Negro, Carter G. Woodson, the father of Black History month, said, that “Negros are taught to admire the Greek, the Hebrew, the Latin, the Teuton and to despise the African.” The idea that Black people are inferior to White people is a lie. This single lie is told to Black children everyday in far too many places around the world. And it is told in every language.
The first step towards mental freedom is naming and exposing the lies that form the lie of Black Inferiority. Here’s my list:
Lie #1: Whites are human, Blacks are less than human.
Lie #2: White skin is better than dark skin.
Lie #3: Black is ugly.
Lie #4: Blacks are less intelligent than Whites.
Lie#5: Blacks are animals.
Lie #6: Blacks are dirty.
Lie #7: Blacks are immoral, bad, and criminals.
Lie #8: Blacks are savages.
Lie #9: Blacks are clowns and minstrels.
Lie #10: Blacks are insignificant and irrelevant….
This single lie that Black is inferior, and White is superior, has kept us as a people mentally enslaved, preventing us from truly flourishing.
What’s your list of lies that constitute the Lie? We need to be aware of them so we can free ourselves and embrace the truth of our people. Please share your list of lies/stereotypes about Black people and how they affect you. This is the first step on the path to healing.
Community Healing Network (CHN): The Emotional Emancipation of People of African Ancestry
Community Healing Network, in collaboration with the Association of Black Psychologists, is mobilizing Black people around the world to make 2019 the year in which we break free from the Lie. We are on a Global Truth Campaign and Tour to invite Black people everywhere to join us on the journey toward emotional emancipation–for complete freedom from the lies. By 2020, we want to see the whole truth of our humanity, our significance, and our divine purpose. We are essential to the survival and the evolution of the human species.
Now is the time to Defy the Lie of Black Inferiority and Embrace the Truth of Black Humanity. Now is the time to heal. Now is the time for us to clear the way for us to flourish. Won’t you join us?

This is a great “defy the lie” article; now I want to see an “embrace the truth” article.
