Our History

“When you stand in the blessings of God and your mother, it matters not who stands against you.”—Yoruba Proverb

In collaboration with the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), CHN has trained more than 1000 local leaders to facilitate Emotional Emancipation (EE) Circles for more than 10,000 people in more than 50 cities in the United States and around the world.

Our Valuing Black Lives Global Summits have brought together hundreds of activists across the Diaspora in an unprecedented initiative to develop a common global response to the common global challenge posed by the lie of White superiority and Black inferiority.

Our annual celebration of Community Healing Days, inspired and supported by the late Dr. Maya Angelou, has encouraged Black communities locally and globally to put “time for healing” at the top of their agendas.
